VdS-FireSafety 2025: GEZE presents complete solutions for smoke and heat extraction and smoke and heat control systems

GEZE is the first supplier on the market to present a complete SHEV air inlet system as a comprehensive solution from a single source at the VdS-FireSafety Days in Cologne. On 3 and 4 December, the specialist in innovative and modern door, window and safety technology will also demonstrate how its automation solutions facilitate the monitoring and control of escape and rescue routes in building management systems. Visitors will find GEZE in the Congress Centre East in Hall 10.2, stand A-06.

When there's a fire, every second counts. That is why SHEV air inlet doors must open quickly in the event of a fire in order to allow fresh air to enter and smoke to escape. In everyday life, however, they are designed to provide barrier-free access or prevent unauthorized entry. In order to meet these broad requirements, intelligent control of all components via a SHEV control panel is essential. The new additional control unit for motor locks GC Lock Control SHEV ensures simple and safe component wiring.

An additional control unit for all motor locks: GC Lock Control SHEV

The GC Lock Control SHEV is a reliable additional control unit that connects all system components and enables various smoke and heat extraction solutions to be implemented on a single door. Wiring is greatly simplified, as only two cables are required from the air inlet door to the smoke and heat extraction control panel. All commercially available motor locks can be connected to the additional control unit for motor locks. This means that all components of a smoke and heat extraction system can be combined with each other, even if motor locks have already been set. This also makes them the ideal solution for existing buildings. In addition, despite complex requirements, the innovative additional control unit is easy to install and offers a high degree of flexibility.

Improved emergency exit system: GEZE Powerturn update

The GEZE Powerturn F/R swing door drive can also be part of a SHEV air inlet system. It offers excellent ease of access during normal operation and meets the highest standards of fire protection and accessibility. To this end, it has received a recent software update that further expands its range of functions: in addition to the Smart swing function, the GEZE Powerturn F/R has also been further optimised in terms of accessibility. This means that a visible manual trigger switch is no longer necessary, manual opening in servo mode has been optimised, and the door status can be reset intuitively after a (false) release by simply opening the door. If the relevant type approval is available, the door can also be set up for barrier-free self-rescue – in this case, it opens automatically again when smoke enters the building.

Intelligent networking: myGEZE Control + myGEZE Visu

Buildings benefit particularly from the networking of these components in the building management system. Automated door and window solutions, such as GEZE SHEV air inlet systems or emergency exit systems, can be networked via myGEZE Control. Thanks to the open BACnet standard, they can be integrated into existing building automation control systems or visualised, monitored and controlled via the building management system myGEZE Visu, either automatically using predefined scenarios or manually. In this way, myGEZE Control increases security and optimises energy efficiency and operational processes. In addition, the smart networking solution increases comfort in the building, for example through intelligent ventilation concepts with smoke and heat extraction windows, which would otherwise remain unused during normal operation.

Door closers are and remains a key component for greater security. At the same time, the requirements doors need to meet for functional scope and ease of use have increased enormously, especially for new buildings or modernisation projects. With the new TS 7000 generation of door closers, GEZE is presenting a technologically innovative, all-round carefree solution at VdS-FireSafety Days which guarantees maximum security even in challenging installation situations. Thanks to the new SensiLatch function, the adaptive hydraulics with the new Easyflow technology always close the door reliably, even in the event of overpressure or in lock situations – with an automatic, situation-dependent latching action. The TS 7000 also guarantees full accessibility in accordance with DIN 18040 and DIN Spec 1104. Installation companies also benefit from innovative assembly aids that make installation noticeably easier.
