Levolan SoftStop: The new sliding door system with draw-in damping

Straight-lined aesthetics and inconspicuous integration – softly cushioned

With the compact Levolan sliding door system, GEZE has created a new discreet and elegant way of fitting manual all-glass sliding doors with functional ease and of moving them effortlessly. Furthermore, it is suitable for the most wide-ranging room concepts, including for bathrooms. Small dimensions and the straight-lined design with a narrow guide rail, which is just 63 millimetres high, suit every type of surroundings. In physical proximity to GEZE door closers, Levolan creates a consistent look throughout a building. The glass clamping used in Levolan is almost invisible. The pane of glass is fitted directly into the glass clamp roller carriage with the result that no additional hanging parts and screening panels are required. Fitting parts are not visible, whilst the rollers and the draw-in damping are fully integrated into the running pipe. There is a choice of two aesthetics for the surfaces of all visible profiles: anodised silver (EV1) or a stainless steel look.

Levolan offers the special advantage of effortlessly holding sliding glass elements - not including the drill holes required for attaching the handles - up to a weight of 150 kg through clamps without the need for the glass to be adapted for the purpose. With Levolan SoftStop, the new variant with draw-in damping, sliding glass elements up to 80 kg can be incorporated. As there is no need to process the glass, the planning stages are reduced and with them, the cost of procuring the glass. Even in the case of heavy door weights, with Levolan there is no need for additional adhesive protection. With Levolan all-glass doors can be created in thicknesses of 8, 10 and 12 millimetres in toughened safety glass, or in laminated safety glass with an accessory set. Levolan allows the sliding door to be ideally matched to the condition of the building. For example, the height on the roller carriage can be adjusted. The easily accessible rollers and roller bearings - tried and tested thousands of times in the GEZE Slimdrive SL range of automatic doors - guarantee the highest convenience for opening the doors, as well as a long life span.

Levolan is suitable for attaching single or dual-leaf doors onto the wall or ceiling. The system is available in three standard lengths for door leaf widths of 545 - 1,700 millimetres. Tailor-made solutions with a total length of up to 6,000 millimetres are also possible. The roller geometry, with two points of support, guarantees a stable run, even for extremely wide doors, and almost entirely prevents the roller carriage becoming unhinged during use.

Levolan sets that are ready for assembly ease the planning and assembly processes. The sets include all small parts, including end caps and brush seals. This saves the fitter having to make additional trips to get extra parts and with it time and money. GEZE can also plan individual solutions with all components where required.

Levolan SoftStop - soft and gentle, as if cushioned by a feather
With draw-in damping, GEZE has now fitted Levolan with additional security and convenience. Around ten centimetres prior to the end of the sliding guide, the regulated closing motion softly brings the door to a halt. The sliding door leaves are automatically moved into their end position, gently and almost silently. It does not matter whether the door is being opened or closed, nor how much force is used. Levolan SoftStop avoids impact on the door frame or buffer. It protects the fitting from shattering and extends the life span of the sliding door. Trapping fingers is no longer an issue. The draw-in damping can be added retrospectively for a reasonable price and can be fitted to suit changing user requirements, e.g. when elderly people or children move into a building. A two-sided draw-in damping is already available for Levolan Softstop for thin, standard door leaf widths from approx. 950 millimetres. Levolan SoftStop has been tested over 100,000 cycles and fulfils the highest category of the DIN EN 1527.
