Barrier-free automatic swing door system with the ECturn swing door drive and remote control via remote-control buttons from GEZE
Whether at the workplace or at home, we are always walking up to the same door – and often with our hands full. We don't have a free hand to open it. How nice it would be to pass through that door freely, without obstacles! This is what GEZE makes possible. The new ECturn swing door drive provides a simple and cost-effective way to automate internal doors that are incompatible with traditional door-actuating solutions. Internal doors become barrier-free in just a snap and can either be opened automatically for a gentle and easy opening action or they can be opened manually and closed automatically.
That's why automatic swing doors with ECturn drives are especially well suited for people with limited mobility and infirmities, including children and – through sustainable building – future generations of seniors. Internal doors with ECturn are the ideal solution for barrier-free living for the home, retirement homes, and for hospital rooms used for overnight stays.
The ECturn drive is designed for door leaf widths of up to 1,100 mm and weights of up to 125 kg and it can be operated in low-energy and automatic modes.
In low-energy mode ECturn moves the swing door at reduced speeds, thus satisfying the safety level of DIN 18650. This way the special protective unit with safety sensors is only needed in special cases to meet the requirements of specific user groups. For particularly sensitive groups of users, ECturn provides even more protection. Additional safety sensors can be quickly and easily added. The drive already includes the required interfaces in the standard configuration.
But in automatic mode, which is available with leaf weights of up to max. 50 kg and leaf widths up to max. 1,100 mm, the swing area of the door must always be secured using safety sensors. In case of a power outage, an optional battery ensures maximum safety, especially for people with infirmities and difficulty walking. The door continues to open and close automatically and safely. Naturally the door can also be opened manually in the event of power outages. As a "plug and go" solution, the drive can be plugged directly into the socket so that swing doors can also be easily and conveniently automated later, thus making them barrier-free.
Open Sesame: More barrier freedom for doors and windows at the press of a button
For maximum freedom from barriers and even more user-friendliness, automatic door and window solutions can be controlled wirelessly via remote-control buttons or mobile remote control units. These are becoming increasingly standard fittings for barrier-free living. They assist nursing staff in their tasks. The new GEZE radio programme can be used for individual doors and windows, which can be controlled either separately, together, or in defined groups via remote control. Access privileges can be individually assigned for different doors and windows.
The use of remote controls for doors and windows means that wires and cables have become unnecessary. This way existing switches and buttons can later be retrofitted easily and cost-effectively. The radio modules are small enough to allow for an integrated flush-mounted fitting or surface installation with minimal effort. The radio transmitter module, for example, can be directly snapped into the surface button and mounted to glass without wires.
Security plays a key role with radio programmes: by using encrypted radio signals, programmed radio transmitters cannot be "cracked". Each radio transmitter is programmed individually and securely to prevent false or incorrect activation of doors and windows. Door- or window drives can be activated from distances up to 30 metres, even through a wall.
The GEZE radio receiver can be used for both door and window drives. With door drives, just a simple press of the button is all that's required to open it and it can be held open for longer periods by simply keeping it pressed down longer. With window drives, the "dead-man control" mode or lock can be selected and the window will open and close safely at the user's request. Due to the very small dimensions of the housing, the radio receiver can be easily integrated in the drive or a flush-mounted box. The surface mounting is available with a special IP54 protective housing as required. The GEZE radio programme is also compatible with all types of GEZE door and window drives.
